Manrico Genoni. Nato a Legnano (MI) il 27 luglio 1957
Born in Legnano, Italy, 27th July 1957
Era il 1978 e seppi che a Milano esistevano i Rhinos e, come molti appassionati del nostro sport, me ne innamorai. Giocai con loro solo 1 anno poi, in compagnia di Marco Del Freo, iniziai il percorso da allenatore degli Steelman Legnano, grazie agli insegnamenti del Coach Ray Semko.
It was 1978 and I knew that in Milan there were Rhinos and, like many fans of our sport, I fell in love with them. I played with them only 1 year then, in the company of Marco Del Freo, I began the path as a coach of the Steelman Legnano, thanks to the coaches of Coach Ray Semko.
Coi fratelli Nori, Del Freo appresi oltre ai vari schemi anche la strategia e la lettura degli attacchi.Sia a Legnano che a Bollate facevo il tattico in side-line e l’assistente durante gli allenamenti.
With the Nori brothers, Del Freo learned not only the various schemes but also the strategy and the reading of the attacks.
In both Legnano and Bollate I was a side-line tactician and assistant during training.
Lascio la franchigia di Legnano nel 1986 per i Phytons Milano ed in tre stagioni dalla C alla A, nelle prime due da defensive coordinator, la terza da head coach.
I left the Legnano franchise in 1986 for the Phytons Milano and in three seasons from C to A, in the first two as defensive coordinator, the third as head coach.
Nel 1990 è la volta dei Lario Hammers, team che nel 1989 si classificò ultima, mentre nel 90 giocò per la prima volta i play-off a Verona. Successivamente i Falcons Milano,era il 2001.
Nel 2003 a Ferrara vinciamo il SilverBowl…..cosi come coi Vikings anni prima.
In 1990 it was the turn of the Lario Hammers, the team that ranked last in 1989, while in 90 played for the first time the play-offs in Verona.
Then the Milan Falcons, it was 2001.
In 2003 in Ferrara we win the Silverbowl….. as well as the Vikings years before.
Tocca ai Lancieri Novara, due anni, che mi portano a qualche chilometro di distanza, ai Bulls Magenta, li ritrovo Walter Sabbioneda ( che giocava a Bollate e poi Legnano) in qualità di Head Coach.
It’s up to the Lancieri Novara, two years, who take me a few miles away, to the Bulls Magenta, I find there Walter Sabbioneda ( who played at Bollate and then Legnano) as Head Coach.
Successivamente nel 2010 fondo con due amici, prima, gli Angels Monza ( sulle ceneri dei Falcons) poi i Commandos Brianza: un’altra fusione, questa volta con i Deamons Cernusco.
Then in 2010 I founded with two friends, the Angels Monza ( on the ashes of the Falcons) and the Commandos Brianza: another fusion, this time with Deamons Cernusco.
La rifondazione degli Hammers Brianza mi porta a Desio nel 2012 come defensive coordinator e coach di 1° livello. Dopo due anni gli agognati play-off : Saints Padova ed infine Bills Cavallermaggiore. L’ultimo team in ordine cronologico: due anni in Svizzera con i Rebels Lugano, due anni di vittorie in terza divisione (a11) e la desiderata promozione in seconda divisione. Record: sempre la migliore difesa della federazione.
The refounding of the Hammers Brianza brings me to Desio in 2012 as a defensive coordinator and coach of the 1st level. . After two years the play-off : Saints Padua and finally Bills Cavallermaggiore.
The last team in chronological order: two years in Switzerland with the Lugano Rebels, two years of victories in the third division (a11) and the desired promotion in the second division. Record: always the best defense of the federation.
